Hotels in New Delhi

Delhi is the capital of India and the third-largest city  after Mumbai and Calcutta. Delhi has not always been the capital of  India but it has played an important role in Indian history. Delhi is a relatively easy city to find your  way   around  in, although  it  is very spread out. The section of interest to visitors is on  the west bank of  the Yamuna River and  is   divided basically into two parts, viz. Old  Delhi  and New Delhi. Old Delhi  is  basically  the 17th century  walled  city of Shahjahanabad,  with city gates,  narrow alleys,  the enormous  Red Fort   and  Jama  Masjid, temples, mosques, bazaars and the famous   street/area known as Chandni Chowk. New Delhi is a planned city of    wide, tree-lined streets, parks and fountains.  Its  hub  is the  great circle of Connaught Place and the streets that radiate south from it. Here   you will find most of   the airline offices,  banks,  travel   agents,  the  various  state  tourist  offices,  the   national  tourist   office, economical rest/guest houses and several of the big hotels.

Hotel Broadway New Delhi (4 star )

Hotel Broadway was built in 1956 as Delhi's first modern, high rise building by Mr. Tirath Ram Amla,
a businessman from Kashmir. His vision was to build an affordable clean family hotel and his main management
mantra to ensure that each guest was treated by each staff member as his 'own personal guest'. This has stood
the hotel in great stead for over 44 years.

Located in the heart of New Delhi's business district, 5 minutes from downtown Connaught Place and a leader in
its market segment, Hotel Broadway is India's first ISO 9002 Hotel.

Built as the Capital's first high rise modern hotel in 1956, the hotel prides itself in being 'a home away from home' for
three generations of loyal guests who return to its service and warmth time and time again.

Sandwiched enviably between Colonial New Delhi and the Old City, the front rooms of the hotel overlook the bustling
Asaf Ali Road while the back ones provide a spectacular view of the Old Delhi skyline. Tourists can spend many a
delightful hour, watching kite flights, pigeon fights and the hustle-bustle of life in this part of town. In spite of giving
the guests a heady whiff of nostalgia, the modern rooms are centrally air-conditioned and equipped with all amenities.
The hotel also offers facilities for currency exchange and valet parking. Hotel Broadway also provides exceptional
value for money on Conferences and Banquets. It has several function rooms with capacities ranging between
12 and 120. All business and audio-visual aids-projector, TV, VCR, email, fax and secretarial services available.

Hotel Broadway is also home to some of the country's most celebrated eateries Chor Bizarre - India's Restaurant, which also has a branch in London and Thugs - The Pub not the People.

Address: 4/15 A, Asaf Ali Road, New Delhi-110 002, India.

  • Rooms Broadway's rooms are a tad musty and some are dated when it comes to their interior design, But you can't shake a finger at the price. All the rooms are carpeted (which may explain the slightly stale odour) and come with a colour TV, writing desk, sofa and small coffee-table. Some have floral-printed bedcovers with matching curtains, and many of Broadway's (well-kept) bathrooms sport smart black and white tiles. A few of the hotel's rooms even have distant views of the Jama Masjid, India's largest mosque. Broadway's service isn't crash hot; however, if you wish to stay reasonably close to Old Delhi, this hotel is one of your best bets. On site is the renowned restaurant, Chor Bizarre, which serves formidable Mughlai and Kashmiri fare in quirky surroundings - there's a vintage car salad bar and a curious four-poster bed table.

Room Service : Serves snacks, breakfast and lunch and dinner items. Offers a wide range of beverages and Indian cuisine.

Services : Centrally air conditioned, satellite TV in all rooms, direct dial, STD/ISD, laundry, safe deposit lockers, currency exchange, valet parking, doctor on call, sightseeing tours & transport arranged on request. All major credit cards accepted.

Chor Bizzare Restaurant : Every city in India has its own special 'Chor Bazaar’ that translates as 'thieves market'. All kinds of wares find their way here (with or without the consent of the owners).

From furniture to fabrics, pearls to periodicals, crystal to cutlery...With antique tables as counters for coal irons and grandfather clocks jostling with stereos, colourful street food vendors, bangle sellers and old jewellery sharing space with auto parts - the Chor Bazaar captures the spirit of India like no other place.

Conferences & Banquets : Several function rooms with capacities from 10 to 100 provide exceptional value for money on small conferences and banquets. All business and audio visual aids, projector, TV, VCR, email, fax and secretarial services available.

    Broadway :
Chor Bizarre - India's Restaurant is a unique and imaginative restaurant that has been consistently celebrated as one of the most imaginative and high quality eateries in India.

Thugs - The Pub not the People - is Hotel Broadway's tribute to the 'filmi villain's den - dark and smoky, with the cheapest booze in town. The walls are adorned with a Rogue's Gallery of caricatures, which features everyone from Hollywood greats…Bonnie & Clyde, Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid, Al Capone, Hook, and Lex Luther to our very own Bollywood baddies, Gabbar, Mogambo and of course Ajit 'The Loin'.

The powerful, almost larger than life movie personas of these legendary film villains have come alive with the deft strokes of our ace caricaturist. And the   bad boys are everywhere! Each alcove has other baddies (life size-no less!) - Prem Chopra, Danny, Jeevan, K.N. Singh, Rehman, Amrish Puri and others.  The sordid tale doesn't end here! The men's room has Shetty holding a cigar and the blurb reads "Real men only".

The menu is no less imaginative with cocktails like Mona Darling (Bloody Mary), Mogambo Margherita (Frozen Fruit Margarita) and Loin's Punch (Planter's  Punch) The waiters rack their brains everyday for the names of daily specials and dialogues for the "Today's dialogue' board, and of course come up with  such gems as " Neeche Chor Upar Thug, Come on baby, give me a mug!"

Events Etc. is the Catering and Entertainment division of the company and is today considered the most premium service of its kind with a team of talented Chefs and Managers.

Counting the major embassies, top corporates and Delhi's most discerning hosts as its regular clients, it has also executed large location caterings as well as held Food Festivals for other hotels outside Delhi.
